What’s new for 2013?
Well, there are a few announcements coming from club members (at least a few that i am allowed to repeat here at this point). Firstly, Ian Paterson and Jim Haugh have secured a full two year sponsorship deal from Gulf Oil, to do two years of the Scottish Rally Championship. The car is already resplendent in its fab new Gulf livery and both are very excited at the prospect.
David Bogie’s car for the 2013 season is a WRC Focus which he hopes will secure a fifth consecutive SRC title. There’s more news to come on this campaign. Greg McKnight’s Mk II Escort is coming along nicely but he tells me it may not be ready for the first or even the second round of the 2013 SRC. He cant wait to get back in the stages though and as well as trying to get ready for rallying, he’s working on his sponsorship deals.
And on the classic side, Chris and Stephen Kemp have purchased a Classic Mini which will be used on various NESCRO events in 2013, Bob Sloan has a Volvo Amazon currently on its way to the paint booth and Paul Whyte’s Chevette is now in its new immaculate colours and is now being refitted with all the essential bits.
