SOSCC Wins !!!
Most of you will recall the Autotest we ran at Tescos, Lockerbie, on July 4th as part of National Motorsport Week. The main thrust of the event was to encourage the local boy and girl racers who were the bane of the residents of Lockerbie, to take part in organised motor sport. The event susequently received a tide of very positive press coverage, including two and a half minutes of TV coverage on BBC Scotland. Well, some even more positive news has just arrived !.
Here’s an excerpt from an e.mail received today.
“Following on from National Motorsport Week 2012, thank you for getting involved and also submitting your application for the £500 prize. We received a number of entry forms from MSA clubs who took part, and due to the high standard of applications, this initially proved difficult for our judges to decide upon an overall winner. Please accept our apologies for the delay in responding.
The judges were so impressed with the quality of the top six, that they feel all should be publicly commended:-
· Aintree Circuit Club Ltd
· East Ayrshire Car Club
· Lancashire & Cheshire Car Club
· South of Scotland Car Club
· Under 17 motor Club Northwest
· Weston-Super-Mare Motor Club
It is however the judge’s opinion that one of the above candidates just edged into the lead, because they succeeded in getting members of the public to compete on the day in their own cars. I can confirm that the winner of the £500 prize is your club – South of Scotland Car Club, congratulations”.
The award will be presented to us at the Business Excellence Awards evening on 10th January 2013 at NEC, Birmingham, following the first day of Autosport International. The Awards evening is the only one of its kind and attracts 500 key leaders from the motorsport industry.
SOSCC………. Leading the field yet again.
